I'm having a go at the Survival unit that is shown as an 'examplar' on the main page. I've got two year 10 English classes doing modified versions of it, and here are their wikipages so if you want to give me some feedback, or borrow/plagiarise/modify please go ahead. At the moment there are not many resources there, but more will be arriving. This resource is the 'middle band' class version. I have added the essential question "Why are there so many stories about human conflict with nature?" to encourage a focus on themes in the texts. This resource is the 'lower band' class version.
Here are the reading strategies 'bookmarks' that were suggested in the unit. I printed them on coloured card, the students illustrated them, and then they were laminated. We're referring to the strategies regularly.
